Of Elk and their Ilk

I'm blaming this bit of insanity on Nick.  He started the whole discussion about elk and their ilk on facebook.

I would not balk
To walk and talk
About elk and their ilk
But I would rather halt
And have a good malt
Than drink an elk's milk

For I do not think
I would like such a drink
For I can't stand the taste of Silk.
I think it's quite clear,
Over elk or reindeer
I prefer the taste of cow's milk.
