Peach

If it'd been me in Eden
The snake would have been holding
A peach
Not an apple

Apples are hard
Crunchy

Peaches are tender
Dripping and running down your arm
Juicy-sweet
With an aroma
That makes my mouth water

I can eat just one apple

But when I see a peach tree
Hung with golden-pink fruit
Turning to burgundy
At the peak of ripeness
I’ll eat two, even three
And still I want more

Yes, indeed,
For me,
Temptation is no apple
It’s a peach
