It's the last day of summer
For jumping in pools
For tomorrow we all
Must return to the schools:
The teachers, to planning,
Instruction, and grading;
The children, to science,
Math, and essays persuading.
So we'll all linger
Late into this night
Trying to wring a last gasp
Out of our summers delight.
